Crowds of culinary enthusiasts are set to descend on the Lake District next month for the annual Kendal Festival of Food.

The event will see a host of food fanatics flock to the market town on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March 2015.

Now in its sixth year, the exciting festival is a celebration of all things food and drink, and this year’s event offers plenty for visitors to feast their eyes on.

A programme has been finalised which is sure to tempt even the most hard to please pallet.

What’s On This Year?

Organisers will be serving up a host of different activities throughout the two-day festival, guaranteed to cause a stir amongst food fans.

From competitions, to a variety of exciting exhibitors, this year’s much-anticipated event brings together a fusion of food, drink and fun.

Below is a selection of just some of the treats on offer this time round:


Last year saw a whole array of exhibitors take to Kendal.

From chocolatiers and coffee roasters, to butchers and bakers, last year’s list of exhibitors was well-received and this year is set to follow suit, with over 95 artisans and producers already lined up to showcase their produce.


With The Great British Bake Off craze sweeping the nation, visitors also have the chance to take part in the AGA Bring a Bake Competition.

Whether you are a fan of bread baking or you have more of a sweet tooth, the Bring a Bake Competition gives you the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and wow the judges with the tasty results.

Beer Festival

North Country brewing will be celebrated once again with an opportunity for festival-goers to sample the finest local brews in truly idyllic surroundings.

Visitors are also lucky enough to test their beer-making abilities by creating their own brew with Bowness Bay Brewing and even sample the results.

Drinks Village and Food Demonstrations

Sponsored by Wainwright’s Yard situated in Kendal, this year’s festival is now home to Wainwright’s Yard Drinks Village.

Visitors have the chance to meet some of their favourite drinks producers from across the region and sample some of their favourite beverages.

The 2015 Kendal Food Festival is jam-packed with activities. As well as the impressive line-up above, there will be chef and artisan food demonstrations throughout the weekend for visitors to get their teeth into.

Food Talks

Restaurant critic and novelist Jay Rayner joins the festival offering and there will be a handy host of top tips, talks and tutored tastings to really get your creative juices flowing.

The two-day event is a true celebration of food and drink in superb surroundings. Talk about vodka, embark on a journey about cheese or learn how to impress guests with dinner party tips, this festival is bursting with events to impress food and drinks fans alike.
