Ovenu, the UK and international and domestic oven cleaning business, has teamed up with a renowned Aga-Rayburn demonstrator to offer some top tips on how to keep an Aga clean and get the best possible performance from the kitchen centrepiece.

Sarah Whitaker, one of the most experienced authorised Aga-Rayburn demonstrators and author of several cookery books including ‘Casual Aga Cooking’ and ‘The Twelve Sarah Whitaker & Keith ArcherDays of Aga Christmas’, has offered the following tips to get the best out of an Aga.

  • Keep the lids down
  • Anything taking longer than 10 minutes should go into the oven where you don’t have to be in the kitchen watching it – most Aga cooking is done from another room!
  • Have your Aga valeted regularly to maintain optimum performance.
  • You don’t need a Wok – Stir frying is much more successful in a very wide based sauté pan
  • Keep the plain shelf cold.
  • Clean up spills as they happen so they won’t cook onto the top of the Aga.
