Ovenu & AGA Cooking Expert Reveal Top 6 AGA Tips

Ovenu, the UK and international and domestic oven cleaning business, has teamed up with a renowned Aga-Rayburn demonstrator to offer some top tips on how to keep an Aga clean and get the best possible performance from the kitchen centrepiece.

Sarah Whitaker, one of the most experienced authorised Aga-Rayburn demonstrators and author of several cookery books including ‘Casual Aga Cooking’ and ‘The Twelve Sarah Whitaker & Keith ArcherDays of Aga Christmas’, has offered the following tips to get the best out of an Aga.

  • Keep the lids down
  • Anything taking longer than 10 minutes should go into the oven where you don’t have to be in the kitchen watching it – most Aga cooking is done from another room!
  • Have your Aga valeted regularly to maintain optimum performance.
  • You don’t need a Wok – Stir frying is much more successful in a very wide based sauté pan
  • Keep the plain shelf cold.
  • Clean up spills as they happen so they won’t cook onto the top of the Aga.

Sarah, whose Aga and cooking demonstrations take her all over the UK and the United States, said, “Agas cook food brilliantly but, as an iconic British cooker, an Aga looks its best when clean, which makes the cook try harder to produce amazing food.  Cooks should be keeping them clean on a regular basis, but even so, grime does build up over time.”

She added: “I was over the moon with the quality of service offered by Ovenu as they offer a fantastic Aga cleaning service.  I recommend Ovenu to my clients and friends and always look forward to coming home to my gleaming Aga after a visit from Ovenu; the service they provide is simply so good”.

Rik Hellewell, Managing Director and founder of Ovenu said, “It is always a pleasure to hear that our customers are happy. I am delighted that Sarah, such a well respected person in the Aga Industry recommends Ovenu to her clients, it is a testament to the quality service that we deliver.”Keith Archer and AGA

“A professional deep clean for an Aga maybe a difficult job but the results will speak for themselves. A properly maintained Aga can be kept looking new and is more energy efficient ensuring your Aga is operating at its optimum potential.

“Oven cleaning, and Aga cleaning in particular, can be an arduous task and one often best left to an Ovenu professional.  Our valeters carry all the correct materials and unique oven cleaning products that are safe for all concerned, the clients, the environment and all vitreous enamel surfaces.”
